    ●CO2 gas shielded welding has the following advantages:

    (1) High production efficiency, low cost and good quality. CO2 gas shielded welding can adopt a larger welding current density, the current density is large, up to 100-300A/mm2, so the arc heat is concentrated, the melting efficiency of the welding wire is high, the penetration thickness of the base metal is large, the welding speed is fast, and after welding There is no need to remove welding slag, so the efficiency can be significantly improved and energy can be saved. It is also easy to realize mechanization and automation. Due to the low price of carbon dioxide gas and welding wire, the production preparation requirements before welding are not high, and the cleaning and calibration hours after welding are less, so the cost is low.
    (2) Welding deformation and internal stress are small. Due to the concentrated arc heating and the small heating area of the weldment, coupled with the cooling effect of CO2 gas, CO2 gas shielded welding has less welding deformation and internal stress, and is especially suitable for thin plate welding.
    (3) Easy to operate and wide application range. During the welding process of CO2 gas shielded welding, the arc and molten pool can be directly observed, which has the flexibility of electrode arc welding and is easy to operate. Suitable for repairs, such as surfacing worn parts and repairing cast iron. CO2 gas shielded welding also has some disadvantages: large spatter, poor weld surface shape, complicated welding equipment, can't weld in windy places, can't weld easily oxidized non-ferrous metals and stainless steel, etc.
    (4) Low sensitivity to pores caused by oil and rust.
