The Auto Welding Carriage-A Gateway to Precision and Efficiency in Modern Fabrication
The KG-100S Auto Welding Carriage is a self-contained, programmable mechanized unit designed to transform a standard MIG/MAG welding process into a consistent, repeatable, and high-quality operation. Engineered for both straight-line and circumferential welding, it is particularly adept at handling large-radius arcs, such as those found on pipes and storage tanks with diameters exceeding 750mm.
The system is built around a robust, compact carriage that travels along a flexible magnetic track. This track securely attaches to the workpiece, guiding the carriage with precision. The heart of its capability lies in its integrated swing welding function. Unlike simple travel carriages, the KG-100S can oscillate the welding torch side-to-side during its travel. Key parameters such as swing speed, swing angle (adjustable up to ±15°), center offset, and dwell time on each side are fully adjustable through an intuitive control panel. This allows a single pass to produce a significantly wider, more uniform weld bead—ideal for filling large grooves or creating cover passes with excellent surface appearance.

System Anatomy: More Than Just a Carriage
A successful Auto Welding Carriage system is a harmonious integration of several key components, with the KG-100S as the intelligent driver.
- The Carriage & Control Unit:This is the "brain and body" of the operation. It houses the drive motor, swing mechanism, and the user interface. The control panel allows operators to set all motion parameters and often interfaces directly with the welding power source for synchronized operation.
- The Flexible Magnetic Track:Serving as the programmed "path," this track can be easily bent and attached to curved surfaces. Its switchable magnetic base allows for quick mounting and demounting on ferrous materials.
- The Welding Power Source & Wire Feeder (MIG System):The KG-100S is designed to seamlessly integrate with standard MIG welding equipment. The Metal Inert Gas (MIG) or Metal Active Gas (MAG) process is ideal for this automation due to its continuous wire feed, high deposition rates, and suitability for a wide range of materials, from carbon steel to stainless steel and aluminum.
- Torch Mounting and Micro-Adjustment:A sturdy, insulated holder secures the MIG torch. A fine-tuning mechanism enables minute adjustments in the torch's angle and stick-out during welding, crucial for achieving perfect arc characteristics
The versatility of the flexible track system opens a wide array of industrial applications:
- Pressure Vessel & Storage Tank Fabrication: Ideal for longitudinal and circumferential seams on large tanks and boilers.
- Pipeline and Large-Diameter Pipe Welding: Perfect for girth welds on fixed pipes in refineries, shipyards, and power plants.
- Structural Steel and Beam Welding: Efficiently welds long, straight seams on I-beams, box girders, and other structural components.
- Shipbuilding and Offshore Construction: Used for deck plating, hull sections, and bulkhead welding.
